ANSYS-CFX Air Assisted Fuel Sprays
A close up view of the air assisted fuel spray distributed air volume fractions in the cross sectional plane, due to that air is coming from the side located tubes air concentration is the highest in the tubes therefore having a red colour.
A close up view of the air assited fuel spary showing the pressure distribution contours on the nozzels surface.
The produced fuel spray flow pattern. When I first ran the simulations I was getting a side ways profile of the produced jet, at first I thought it might be due to the odd number of air nozzels around the jet located in the nozzel I made them even but that didnt change the spray outcome in conculstion it turned out that I wasnt including the guide vanes into the mesh which was resulting in a side ways fuel spray. This problem provide to me the imporatnce of the role of the guidnace vanes.
The following slide shows the represntaion of the vector field in the form of fluid droplets varaying in size depending on the flow field velocity.
The fuel Spray Histogram at the mid cross sectional plane is shown in the following slide what is helpful is that we can see that the heisghst precentage of fluid particals are in the smallest region giving the chance for fuel droplest to evaporate:
