Always ask questions
That is through learning from the very mistakes you will make through the learning process, all this will build your character to a unique one:

How to Work in a Group and Establish Confidence Between Researchers
The majority of PhD Students always complain and find it difficult to work in a group because in nature humans are competitive. The question is how to build trust and how is this done. Some times you need to asses your collaborator and see how much he intends to contribute, that is through his stated emails. Emails are a source of profile of the agreement being established between two teams.

Pursuing a Career in Academic Teaching in the UK
All job opportunities at the UK universities are advertised under the university website.
Search using Google for jobs in ‘College of Science and Engineering’
You can apply for a fellowship. The advantage of getting a fellowship is that you have more freedom for your research in addition to where you want to work. In many cases people continue to work as lecturers at the institution where they held a fellowship.
The Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship scheme is currently open for application http://www.leverhulme.ac.uk/funding/deadlines.cfm
The other fellowship provider is the Royal Academy of Engineering and the Royal Society fellowships schemes. They usually have deadlines in fall.
UK universities usually have several fellowship schemes: the Lord Kelvin / Adam Smith fellowships. Check when do these schemes close for applications, but several other UK universities have similar fellowship schemes, e.g. Durham University.
