Partical Image Velocimetry Lab
The following picture album shows the main lab apparatus used in the PIV lab, the aluminium flow seeding method to capture the reflected laser rays is used in order to see what flow characteristics is occurring on the flame surface. Safety procedures is shown through the use of protective goggles. A cylinder with four windows is used to contain the Bunsen burner. One of the pictures shows the two laser beams visualized through the use of water vapour. The laser power source and wiring is displaced. Filling up the seeder is also shown. The flame holder is also shown. The Dantac controlled base used to take the flow measurements is shown with the different motors used. The flow meters are also shown two read the different volume fractions of air and methane with the addition of using suction fans. The gas mixture is mixed before hand and passed through the seeder before it goes to the Bunsen burner.
The second album also shows the different appratus, during the setting up process, with close up views of the used air compressor, then it is shown the a jet flow is shown.
